Frances Moorefield Amburn

Frances Lorene Moorefield Amburn, 86 of Eden, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at her son’s home in Buford, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 2pm at Overlook Cemetery. Pastor Wayne Handy will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-1:45pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden on Sunday, August 17th, prior to the service.

Frances was born December 26, 1938 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to Wylie Moorefield and Ocie Wagoner Moorefield. She worked at Fieldcrest for many years as a spooler. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Frances is surviving by her son, Jack Thomas (Hyun Young) of Buford, GA; granddaughters, Victoria and Katherine Thomas; sisters, Cornelia Pike of Eden, Janie Davis of Ruffin, Barbara Hill of Stoneville, Kay Hicks (Phillip) of Eden; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson “Buck” Amburn, as well as several siblings.
