Florine Chumley Ward

Florine Chumley Ward, 67, passed away Wednesday morning, December 30, 2020, at Gibson House in Reidsville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 3, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  She will lie in repose on Saturday at Fair Funeral Home from 12 Noon to 6 pm for those wishing to come by to pay their respects.

Born April 16, 1953 in Rockingham County, NC, Florine was the daughter of the late Thomas Lester Chumley and Bessie Gibson Chumley.  She was a 1971 graduate of Morehead High School and attended Rockingham Community College.  Florine was a retired teacher assistant for the Rockingham County School System.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Eugene Ward of the home; three daughters, Heather Heffner (Scott) of Reidsville, Crystal Lane (Chris) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Amanda Ward of Reidsville; five grandchildren, Scottlyn, Skylar, Sean, Ashlyn and Elijah; one great-grandchild, Braylen; brother, James Chumley of Eden; and two sisters, Kay Billingsley (Pat) and Betty Sue VanHorn, both of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Chumley and Ralph Chumley; and sisters, Mildred Carter and Faye Chumley.
