Floe McDonald Graves, 90, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2020, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 27, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 - 11 AM) at Fair Funeral Home.
Mrs. Graves was born April 19, 1929 in England, Arkansas, to the late Andrew Haskel McDonald and Elizabeth Willoughby McDonald. She enjoyed reading the Bible, playing scrabble and visiting the elderly and sick, and especially going to church. Floe was the last of the 11 children in her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Atkins of Mayodan; daughter-in-law, Connie Graves; five grandchildren, Christopher Graves (Tammy), Toby Graves (Maridee), Julien Atkins, Misty Hyler (Ryan), and Brandi Singer; six great-grandchildren, Krista Graves, Tristan Graves, Aiden Graves, Adam Graves, Benjamin Hyler, and Kelsey Graves; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kai and Thor Graves.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Benton Reece Graves; her two sons, Carl Graves and Anthony "Tony" Graves; and great-grandson, Ashton Benton Graves.
Flowers are welcome but memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or to Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
