Evelyn Taylor Johnson

Evelyn Taylor Johnson, 93, of Stoneville passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 3pm Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Stoneville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 2-3pm, at Providence Baptist Church, 750 Eden Rd, Stoneville. The family will gather at other times at 829 Eden Rd.

Evelyn was born April 30, 1930 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late I.A. Johnson and Maude Hall Johnson. She was a dedicated member of Providence Baptist Church. Evelyn worked at Dupont in Martinsville, VA, for 37 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Martha Smith (Tom) of Eden, June Harris of Julian; nephews, Van Johnson (Jackie) of Eden, Terry Johnson of Eden, Don Johnson (Shannon) of Stoneville; great-nephews, Joshua Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Austin Johnson; great-niece, Jessica Whalen (Shane); great-great-nephews, Liam and Maverick; great-great-nieces, MacKenzy and Rowan.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, James Johnson (Lily), Frankie Johnson, Doug Johnson; sister, Edna Grogan (Mack).
