Evelyn Joyce Priddy

Evelyn Joyce Priddy, 89, of Eden passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11am to Noon, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Evelyn was born May 1, 1935 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Louie T. Joyce and Jessie Martin Joyce. Known as “Ma Priddy” She owned and operated Ma Priddy’s Daycare for many years. Helping to raise and care for children brought her joy and was a large part of her life. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joyce Priddy Minniear (Darrell) and Julie Priddy; grandchildren, Heath Minniear (Bibi) and Heather Minniear Armstrong (Jeff); sister, Eva Chambers (Landon); numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Priddy; six sisters, Hortense Bullins, Zora Brown, Frances Crews, Myrtle Lester, Pauline Stewart, Bessie Craddock; brother, James Joyce.
