Evadell Underwood Mcbride

Evadell “Tootsie” Fern Underwood McBride, 91, of Eden passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at Brian Center Rehabilitation in Yanceyville.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be held at DanView Cemetery.

Tootsie was born May 22, 1932, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Jesse William Underwood and Mae Belcher Underwood. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Draper.  Tootsie was a member of Widows for Christ. She worked as a clerk in the second-hand store at Fieldcrest Mills until her retirement in 1997.

Surviving are her children, Andy McBride and wife, Barbara, of Eden and Donna London and husband, Barry, of Elon; sisters, Marcilene (Arthur) Emberson of Collinsville and Novella (Bill) Earles of Stoneville; grandchildren, Chad Burns (Evelina), Clay London (Angelia), Jesse London (Misty), Christy Bailey (Matt), Leigh Smith (Mark); great-grandchildren, Micah and Annadell Smith; special family member, Justin Cabral.

In addition to her parents, Tootsie is preceded in death by her husband, Noah Clayton McBride; brother, Gilmer Underwood; sister, Betty McBride.
