Estelle Joyce Woody, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Richmond, Virginia on December 26, 2013. She previously resided in High Point, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ben Woody and her sons, Ronald Wayne Woody and William Alfred Woody.
Estelle was born on November 4, 1920 in Spencer, VA. She graduated from Spencer Penn High School. She was a member of Mayo Christian Church. Estelle retired from DuPont after 32 years of service.
Estelle's love of cooking for her family and friends was one of her joys in life. She became known for her large wonderful meals and for her delicious recipes that included her ?��Ǩ?�secret ingredient?��Ǩ��...sugar!
Estelle is survived by her daughter, Janet Woody Rivas and her husband, Michael of Richmond, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Nancy Arnold Woody of High Point, NC. She is also survived by grandchildren; Brian Woody of Viroqua, WI; Vicki Beyer and her husband, William of Robbinsville, NJ; Susie Schaller and her husband, Edward of Las Vegas, NV; Erin Woody of High Point, NC; Andrew and Nicholas Rivas of Richmond, VA; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Annie and Lauren Woody of Viroqua, WI and Hope and Melinda Beyer of Robbinsville, NJ.
Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, December 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden, NC.
Funeral services will be held at Mayo Christian Church in Spencer, VA., on Monday December 30, at 1:00 pm.
