Essie Manuel Massey

Essie Manuel Massey, 83, of 198 Comer Road in Stoneville, passed away Wednesday evening, December 23, 2015, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, December 27, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Massey was born October 4, 1932 in Stokes County, NC to the late Ernest Manuel and Lilly Yeatts Manuel. She attended Stoneville Church of God and was a retiree of Burlington Industries.

She is survived by her son, Sammy Massey and wife, Tina of Eden; grandson, Kippy Massey and wife, Christy of Eden; granddaughter, Christie Moricle and husband, Randy; step-granddaughter, Denise Tuggle and husband, Andy both of Eden; two step-grandchildren, David and Michael Myers; nine great-grandchildren, Bailey, Kelsey, Maegan and husband, J. J., Madi, McKenna, Melia, Taylor, Alexis, and Katlyn; brothers, Bobby Manuel and Lawson Manuel of Eden; two sisters, Lorene Jackson and husband, Billy of Madison and Joan Tankersley of Greensboro; and special niece, Teresa Stultz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waller "Cliff" Massey, and her daughter-in-law and mother of her grandchildren, Cathy Light Massey.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 400 Plantation Road in Eden.
