Ernest Leonard Young

Ernest Leonard Young, 66, of 1507 Ridge Avenue in Eden, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 5, at Danview Cemetery.

Mr. Young was born December 17, 1947 in Leaksville, NC. He was a member of Mayfield Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Rachel Blackwell South, of Eden; four daughters, Janice Young Haizlip and husband, Carlton, Tammy Young , Tiffany Nicole Domina and husband, Josh, and Mataska Young Roach and husband, David, all of Eden; son, John Young of Ocean Isle; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carlotta South Tart, Alma South Biggs and husband, John, and Chris South, all of Eden; brothers, J. C. South, Jr. and Tony South, both of Eden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lester Young.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother, Rachel South, 1328 Delaware Avenue in Eden.
