Eris Mabes

Eris Buckner Mabes, 95, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2021, at her home in Hillsborough.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 9th, at Lawson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 10 am– 10:45 am, prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home before proceeding to the cemetery.

Born June 14, 1925 in Leaksville, NC, Eris was the daughter of the late John B. Buckner and Homser Craig Buckner.  She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Randall (Bob) of Hillsborough; two grandchildren, Gregory E. Randall (Christy) of Mebane and Geoffrey R. Hopkins (Nicole) of Whiteville; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Luke and Isabella; and her faithful caregiver, Patricia Pennington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Mabes; three sisters; and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Leaksville Christian Church or Lawson Cemetery Maintence Dept.
