Ellen Yeatts Gaulden Doyle, 99, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the Wellness Center in the WhiteStone Masonic and Eastern Star Community in Greensboro. Ellen was given the gift of a long life which she graced with the Christian principles of love, kindness and generosity.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, February 12, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville. She will lie in repose on Thursday from 12 Noon to 6 PM at Fair Funeral Home in Eden for those wishing to come by to pay their respects.
Born December 4, 1921 in Pittsylvania County, VA, Mrs. Doyle was the daughter of the late Charlie Oregon Yeatts and Annie Mae Trammel Yeatts. She was the eldest of a large family. Mrs. Doyle was a long-time resident of the Mount Hermon Community of Rockingham County and was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church where she served in various capacities, over the years.
She is survived by her two grandsons, Ray Gaulden Timothy Gaulden (Toby); two great-granddaughters, Kaycee and Amber; sisters, Ila Nichols, Catherine Chambers, Betty Wenger and Carolyn Allen; her brother, George Yeatts (Edwina); along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom felt her love and affection.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Albert Gaulden; her second husband, Norman Doyle; brothers, Wesley, Leonard and Leslie Yeatts; and sister, Elma Yeatts.
Memorial donations may be made to Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 1611 Ashley Loop, Reidsville, NC 27320; to The Wellness Center at WhiteStone Masonic and Eastern Star Retirement Community,700 S. Holden Road, Greensboro, NC 27407; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
