Elizabeth Johnson Page, a cherished mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, at the Eden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born on September 23, 1921, and lived an admirable life dedicated to her career, family, and community.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 26th, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery.
Elizabeth was a devoted Secretary and Administrative Assistant for the United States Government, retiring in May 1980. Her last employer was the U.S. Army Engineer Topographic Labs at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, where she had made significant contributions through her work. Prior to that, she was employed at the U.S. Army Engineer Water Resource office at Ft. Belvoir, demonstrating her commitment to public service and the well-being of her community.
An advocate for education, Elizabeth pursued her studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, spending two years there before furthering her education with two years at Business School in Rocky Mount, NC, as well as taking numerous training courses in Washington, DC, to expand her knowledge and skills.
Elizabeth was a respected member of the Martha Washington Chapter No. 42 of the Order of the Eastern Star and was actively involved with the George Washington National Memorial in Alexandria, VA. Additionally, she played a significant role in the Hickory Grove United Methodist Church Women's Group, contributing her time and energy to community service and support.
Elizabeth leaves behind her loving daughter, Janice Parrish; nephews, Durwood Page, George Bethel Page, Phillip Page and Sam Page.
She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Charles Clarence Page, as well as her parents, Romulus L. Johnson and Ina B. Stone; sisters, Josephine Nissen and Gloria Bohan. Elizabeth's legacy of kindness, dedication, and service will forever be remembered by all who knew her. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
A special "Thank You" for the care and love shown toward Mrs. Page by all the staff during her stay at Eden Rehab and Health Care Center.
