Elizabeth Corum Carter, 89, of Eden passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Ancora Compassionate Care’s Gibson House in Reidsville.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be following the service.

Elizabeth was born November 13, 1934 on The Galloway Farm in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Dewey Corum and Lois Odell Corum. She was a devoted member of Dan River Wesleyan Church and of Widows for Christ. Elizabeth spent much of her life working at Burlington Industries and DuPont. She was also the owner and operator of Carter’s Grocery. She enjoyed going to see Gospel and Bluegrass music, as well as sewing and spending time with family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children and their families, Darrell Carter and wife, Robin, of Madison, along with their son, Nathan Carter and wife, Lauren, and their children, Zoey and Ethan; Leanne Holley and husband, Henry, of Eden, along with their son, Drew Holley and wife, Meisa, and daughter, Nevaeh.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Carter; brother, Alfred Corum, and grandson, Jason Carter.
