Elizabeth Blackwell Melton

Elizabeth Blackwell Melton, 93, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away early Sunday morning, November 17, 2019,at Pelican Health in Reidsville.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 23, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home.

Mrs. Melton was born May 31, 1926 in Draper, NC, to the late Charles Ernest Blackwell and Gracie Earles Blackwell.  She was a retiree of Southern Bell Telephone Company.  

She is survived by her six brothers, William "Dink" Blackwell (Shirley) of Eden, Thomas Blackwell of Glenview, IL, Norman Blackwell (Marie) of Eden, Henry Blackwell of  Colorado, Wallace Blackwell of Eden and Billy Troxler (Barbara) of High Point;  sister, Lee Hixon of Port Deposit, MD;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey R. Melton;  sisters, Annie Mae Troxler, Charlotte Elaine Clark and Betty East;  and brothers, Charles and Carl Blackwell.
