Elaine Wilson

Elaine Wilson, 94, passed away Thursday, June 27th at Brookdale of Eden, NC.

A funeral service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, July 2nd at 2:00pm with a burial to follow immediately at Overlook Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 1st from 4:00-6:00pm also at Fair Funeral Home.

Elaine was born July 9, 1929 in Rockingham County to the late James O. Wilson and Bessie Roberts Wilson. She worked as a clerk at Draper Shoe Store.  Elaine devoted her life to the Lord.  She loved singing at the Wayside Church of the Living God where she was a member for many years and was the oldest member of the church.  She was also considered as , "The Mother of the Church".  She loved her family and considered her nieces and nephews as children of her own.  She was a woman who spoke what she believed and when she said she loved you, she meant it.  She enjoyed painting and getting out and doing things with her family.  She will truly be missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister Linda Shore (Harold), nieces, Leigh Turley (Robert), Cindy Edwards (Terry); nephews, David Wilson (Susan), William Wilson (Lisa), Josh Wilson and Michael Duggins.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother’s, Wendell E. Wilson and Roy Wilson also of Eden, NC.
