Elaine Midkiff

Evelyn Elaine Thacker Midkiff, 90, of 50 Barrow Lane Ridgeway, VA passed away on February 28, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville.  She was born on May 23, 1925 to the late Dorsey and Nora Odell Thacker.  Evelyn was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church of Ridgeway until her declining health.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by beloved husband, Marion Midkiff and her brother, Everett Thacker.  

 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in Fair Funeral Home Chapel with brother, Terry Robertson officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 and one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.  

 

Mrs. Midkiff is survived by her son, Vernon Midkiff and wife, Rhonalyn of Ridgeway, grandchildren, Vernon Marion Midkiff and Verna Marie Midkiff; sister, Josephine Heffinger of Ridgeway, brother-in-law, Harley Midkiff and wife, Ann; nieces, Debbie Murdock and Theresa Chaney; nephews, Von Heffinger and Mike Midkiff; her caretakers, Loysteen Clanton, Janice Hightower, Wanda Hankins and Marie Wade.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s honor to First Baptist Church of Ridgeway; 15 Church St, Ridgeway, VA 24148.
