Edith Virginia Evans Wise

Edith Evans Wise, 91, passed away early Friday morning, August 30, 2013, at Morehead Nursing Center in Eden.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 3, at Morris Funeral Home in Hemingway, SC. Burial will follow in Garden of Devotion, also in Hemingway.

Mrs. Wise was born November 23, 1921 in Florence, SC, daughter of the late John Alvin and Virginia "Laid" Hyman Evans. She was a member of Johnsonville United Methodist Church in South Carolina.

She is survived by her son, John Wise and wife, Mae of Eden; two granddaughters, Wendy Barrow and husband, John, of Lewisville, NC and Terri DeLancy and husband, Al, of Hillsborough, NC; and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Buck" Jackson Wise; sister, Mary Poston; and brother, John "Junior" Evans.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Morris Funeral Home.
