Dovie C Gilbert

Dovie Conner Gilbert, age 94 of Eden, passed away on Monday November 15, 2021 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Friday, November 19, 2021 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 – 7 pm.

Mrs. Gilbert was born, November 10, 1927 in Patrick County, Va. to the late Oliver Taswell Conner and Martha Bolt Conner.  She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills where she worked in the General Office.  Dovie also helped her husband run the Gilbert Trucking Company.  She enjoyed traveling especially to the mountains.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Samuel William Gilbert; brothers, Harold Dean Conner and Herbert Conner; sisters, Evna C. Eanes and Cassie C. Saunders.

Surviving are sisters, Elsie C. Capicotto of Middleton, ID and Rheta C. Wilson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.; special niece, Julie Stevens and husband Jimmy; great-nieces, Cheyenne Tucker and husband Thomas and Dakota Stevens; great-nephew, Jamison Stevens.
