Douglas Wayne Overby

Douglas “Doug” Wayne Overby, 66 of Eden, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2026 at his home.

To honor his wishes, there will be no services. Family and friends may visit at his home.

Doug was born January 7, 1960 to the late Billy Overby and Rebecca Wright Overby. He worked as a loomer at Mohawk Industries until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sandy Hopkins Overby; son, Chris Overby; sister, Anita Overby; mother-in-law, Faye Hopkins; sister-in-law, Vicki Grubbs; and 22 nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Doug is preceded in death by his son, Jason Overby; parents, Becky and Bill Overby; sisters, Teresa Overby and Michelle Overby; and nephew, Randy Williams.
