Dorothy Sands Akers, 76, of 1163 Carolina Avenue in Eden, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 21, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Akers of the home; son Randy Akers of Hillsville, VA; daughter, Lucy Chatman (Tim) of Eden; two grandchildren, Michelle and Amanda; and brother, Jerry Fargis (Janice) of Eden.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Howard and Tildia Fargis.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 - 11 AM) at Fair Funeral Home.
