Dorothy Mae Hancock Walker

Dorothy Mae Hancock Walker, 89, of Eden, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday 11 am at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with family receiving friends one hour prior to services.  Burial to follow in Nichols Family Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.

Dorothy was born June 3, 1932 to the late Daniel and Ora Nichols Hancock.  She was a member of the Kings Memorial Baptist Church and retired from the Spray Cotton Mill.

She is survived by her daughter, Reda (Bobby) Shields of Eden; two grandchildren, Jacob (Taylor) Shields of Eden and Chasity (Jason) Anderson of Bassett, VA.; two sisters, Norma Hopkins of Eden and Fay (William) Manuel of Madison.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Juanita Smith and Ricky Smith;  brothers and sisters, James M. Hancock, Daniel N. Hancock, Dewey Hancock, Talford Hancock, Donald Ray Hancock and Betty Wright.
