Dorothy Fulp Martin, 73, of 304 Woodrow Road in Stoneville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, April 29, 2014, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, May 2, at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church in the multi-purpose building. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.
A Rockingham County native, Mrs. Martin was born October 16, 1940, daughter of the late Robert Henry Fulp and Mattie Evans Fulp. She attended Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retiree of Dupont after 27 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Martin, of the home; five sisters, Mildred F. Whitten, Nancy F. Isley, Linda F. Shelton and husband, Billy, and Velma F. Thornton and husband, Richard, all of Stoneville, and Margaret F. Beck of Reidsville; special nephews, Jeremy White and Josh White, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Martin and Jeannine Fulp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dailey Fulp; sister, Alice F. Brammer; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Shelton, Ailene Turner, and Christine Shaffer; and brothers-in-law, Troy Martin, Melvin W. Martin and Dexter R. Turner.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 7 - 9 PM, at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church multi-purpose building and other times at the home of Billy and Linda Shelton, 353 Woodrow Road in Stoneville.
