Dorothy Elaine Gilley Howell

Dorothy Elaine Gilley Howell, 86, formerly of Shedd St. Eden, NC, passed away Friday evening April 6, 2012 at Hospice Home Of Alamance, in Burlington, NC. There will be a graveside service 2pm, Monday April 9th, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, in Reidsville, NC. Fair Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Howell was born September 11, 1925 in Stokesdale, NC to the late Rev. Tobe and Susan Keaton Gilley. She worked for Du Pont for 29 years as a spinner.

Surviving are her daughter Gloria H. Adkins and husband Boyd of Burlington, NC, sons Leon D. Howell and wife Susan of Eden, NC, Kenny L. Howell of Ridgeway, VA Sisters Eunice G. Gauldin and Jack G. Barker of Eden, NC, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil A. Howell, and three brothers Bill, Paul, Pete and Emmitt "Sleepy" Gilley.

Visitation will be held 12pm until 1:30pm at Fair Funeral Home April 9th, prior to the graveside. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to; Above and Beyond Family Care, LLC : 1616 E. Webb Ave, Burlington, NC 27217.
