Doris Patterson Cofer

Doris Patterson Cofer, 87, of 286 Long Road in Eden, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, 2 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other times at the residence.

Mrs. Cofer was born March 2, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late Robert Pleasant Patterson and Beulah Corum Patterson.  She was a member of Dan River Wesleyan Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.  

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Keen and husband, James, of Eden;  four grandchildren, James "Jimbo" H. Keen, Jr. of Greensboro, Kimberly Keen of Elon, Jesse Shelton and Jacob Shelton, both of Eden;   brother, John Patterson and wife, Doris, of Madison;  and special friend, Laura Hartsoe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Harden Cofer;  daughter, Kathy Carter;  and 10 siblings.
