Doris Joyce Moorefield

Doris Joyce Moorefield, age 77 passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2019 at her home in High Point.

A private service and committal will be held at Abbotts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jack Rowe officiating.  There will not be a formal visitation.

Doris was born on August 18, 1941 in the Leaksville section of Eden to the late Henry Joyce and Lena Shelton Joyce.  She was a graduate of John Motley Morehead High School, class of 1959 and a 1985 graduate of High Point University.  Doris was a Finance officer for AT&T with 38 years of service before retirement. 

She is survived by her sisters, Marie J. Brooks of Eden, NC, Frieda J. Scott of Powhatan, VA, Rivers J. Newman of Eden, NC, Peggy J. Kendrick of Eden, NC, Faye J. Stewart of Eden, NC, and Judy J. Frye of Reidsville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Moorefield and her brother, Sammy Joyce.
