Dennis Coy Moore, 55, of Madison passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
There will be no formal service at this time. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at the home of his mother, 121 Dan River Rd, Madison, NC 27025.
Dennis was born September 5, 1968, in Rockingham County, NC, to Gary Coy Moore and Gale Cayton Moore. He worked as a mechanic for much of his life. Dennis was a character and loved a good joke. He liked hotrods, cruise-ins, and anything dealing with cars and being outdoors. He enjoyed being with family and friends. He especially loved his Mother and his Granny.
Surviving are his wife, Meredith Gentry Moore of the home; daughter, Jessica Kennon (Craig) of Eden; stepdaughter, Christina Woods of Eden; mother, Gale Cayton Moore of Madison; grandmother, Doris Cayton of Madison; grandchildren, Hannah, Gracie, Gage, Nova, Jeremiah; brother, Dale Moore (Jeannie) of Madison; nephew, Ty Moore of Greensboro.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Gary Coy Moore; maternal grandfather, Roger Cayton; paternal grandparents, RC and Hazel Moore; uncle, Roger Darrell Cayton.
The family would like to send special thanks to his best friend, Barry “Ken” Cruise and wife, Tina, as well as to Steve Baker and all his cruise-in friends and family. They would also like to thank the staff at Moses Cone Heart ICU for their care.
