Martha Delano Overby

Martha Delano Stewart Overby, 90 of Eden, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Dan View Cemetery in Eden.

Martha was born July 2, 1935, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, to the late William Howard Stewart and Lilly Chambers Stewart. She was a member of Old Time Baptist Church. She worked as a sales clerk at K-Mart until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Stan Overby of Lewisville, NC, Jeff Overby of Eden, NC; granddaughters, Stephanie Washburn of Ridgeway, VA, Jordan Overby of Eden, NC; great-granddaughter, Mia Overby; sister, Elaine Sapaugh of Knightdale, NC; special caregiver, Wanda Overby.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Nowlin; son, Curtis Overby; and sister, Joyce Lee Stewart.
