Deforest "Dee" Richards Way

DeForest “Dee” Richards Way, 73, of Eden, passed away on Wednesday, December 15th, 2021, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of DeForest R Way will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 2:00pm. Service will be held at Faith Memorial Baptist Church, 7450 Martinsville Highway, Danville, Va. Friends and family are invited to a reception after the service to be held in the fellowhip hall.

Dee was born on August 1st, 1948, in Silver Springs, Maryland, to the late John Edward Way, Sr. and Beth Richards Way. Dee had a bachelor’s degree in Business from Tennessee Technical University.  He served his country in the Navy and fought in Vietnam.  Dee was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Danville, Va. He worked as a Plant Manager for Adcom Wire Co., Southern Steel and Wire, and Cavert Wire Co. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Dee used his skills to build two homes that the family lived in over the years.  Most of all, Dee loved being with his family and was considered by many a trustworthy source of comfort and encouragement. 

Dee is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Howard Way of the home; his sons, Eric Way of Lyon, France, Matt Way of Springfield, Virginia, Doug Way of Guyton, Georgia; daughter, Christa Way Joyce of Apex, North Carolina; grandchildren; Ella, Cooper, Genevieve, Alysia, Hailey, Mason; sisters, Cindy Way Blue of Wilmington, North Carolina, Dawn Way of Lexington, South Carolina; brothers, Ed Way of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kerry Way of Lexington, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Bob Howard of Gallatin, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dee is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Way.
