David Wayne Pruitt

David Wayne Pruitt, 89 of Eden, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 at Jacob’s Creek Rehab and Nursing in Madison, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home in Eden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Dan View Cemetery.

David was born March 13th, 1937. He was the youngest child of John and Carrie Pruitt. His siblings were John, Luther, Inez, Hugh, and Dewey, all deceased. He is also preceded in death by his wife and our mom, Josephine McGuire Pruitt. David is also preceded in death by three great-great-grandkids, Emerson, Alex, and Dallas.

David was a retired full-time truck driver with Fieldcrest. He also drove part-time with Pluma and Fleetmaster. David was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying being outdoors. He was a huge NASCAR fan. Mostly, David loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Phillip (Debbie) Pruitt, Dena (Jerry) Reid, Terry (Susan) Pruitt, Dawn (Eric) Hicks; eleven grandkids and nineteen great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids.
