Dariel Ray Pulliam, 69, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 23, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell R. Boles officiating. Interment will be held at Overlook Cemetery. Dariel was born September 12, 1940 in Spray, NC (now Eden) to the late Claude C. Pulliam, Sr. and the late Mildred Foley Pulliam. In his early years Dariel was employed by Burlington Industries and worked for his father in landscaping. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for several years. Dariel was a Christian with a testimony of being humble, kind, and strong in adversity. Dariel is survived by two brothers, Philip M. Pulliam and wife, Opal of Madison, and Claude Calvin Pulliam, Jr. and wife, Carol of Oak Ridge; and three nieces and two nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 313 Cedar Street, Eden, NC 27288. The family would like to especially thank Dr. David B. Tapper, Dr. Kenneth Karb and Dr. Irfein for their concern and care for Dariel. Many thanks to Aletta Corum of C.A.P. Services through Aging Disability and Transit Service for her professional care. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 6:30 - 8:30 at Fair Funeral Home and other times at 417 Beech Street in Eden.
