Daniel Wayne Watkins

Daniel Wayne Watkins, 63, of 292 Garden Road, passed way Tuesday afternoon, December 13, 2011 at VA. Medical Center in Salem, VA. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 16, 2 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Watkins was born May 9, 1948 in Danville, VA. He was a US Army veteran and a retired truck driver for SEI Logistics. Surviving are his wife, Linda Ellington Watkins of the home; daughter, Alice Combs of Eden; mother, Velma Pyron Watkins; four sisters, Margaret Walker of Salisbury, Frances Paschal and Teresa Stanfield of Reidsville, and Barbara McCann of Spartanburg, SC; and grandson, Alex Wayne McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Frank Watkins. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Virginia Moorefield, 349 Garden Road in Eden.
