Daniel "Danny" Raymond Thompson

Daniel "Danny" Raymond Thompson, 68, of 1650 Ashley Loop in Reidsville, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, March 5, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Thompson was born December 9, 1946 in Rockingham County, NC to the late George S. and Ethel Holcomb Thompson. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church since 1969 where he served as a deacon for many years. Danny worked for many years for Mohawk Industries. He was a founding member of the Wentworth Volunteer Fire Department where he was a volunteer fireman. He loved NASCAR, farming and travelling.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Corinda Robertson Thompson of the home; daughter, Kristi Thompson Thomas and husband, John, of Reidsville; sister, Dorothy Bray of State Road, NC; special niece, Katelyn Robertson; special nephews, Dalton Robertson and J. T. Bray; brother-in-law, Tom Robertson and wife, Janet of Denver, NC; and special caregivers, Lane and Patsy Harmon, Charles Coleman, and Bill and Betty Carter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
