Daisy Goard Burgess

Daisy Goard Burgess, 89, of 828 Hill Street in Eden, passed away this morning, November 14, 2019, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 18, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 5 - 7 PM, at Fair Funeral Home. 

Daisy was born March 18, 1930 in Ridgeway, VA, to the late William Riley Goard, Sr. and Pauline Booth Goard.  She was a retiree of American Tobacco Company.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Burgess, of Eden and sister, Myrtle Goard Clark of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ward Burgess;  son, Henry W. Burgess, Jr.;  sisters, Carrie Clark and Bettie Eggleston;  and brothers, William Riley Goard, Jr. and Richard Henry "Chuck" Goard.
