Clyde Walker Hylton

Clyde “Buster” Hylton, 93, of Eden passed away Monday, October 31, 2022 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday, November 4, 2022, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1151 Virginia St, Eden, NC 27288. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1pm – 2pm. Entombment will follow the service at Overlook Mausoleum in Eden.

Clyde was born September 24, 1929, in Fieldale, VA, to the late Homer Kyle Hylton and Rosa Lou Hylton.  He was Retired NAVY, serving 22 years and earning the rank of Senior Master Chief E-9. Clyde had his bachelor’s degree in accounting and worked at Southern Life Insurance and the Eden Post Office. He was a loving husband, Father, and Papa. Clyde was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved his church, Emmanuel Baptist.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Mike Hylton of Eden, Rick (Brona) Hylton of Eden, Tim Hylton of Elon; daughter, Valerie Hylton of Eden; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Buddy Hylton.

In addition to his parents, Clyde is preceded in death by his wife, Ida Belle Smith Hylton; sisters, Vivian Flynn, Ethel Morgan, Mildred Manuel, Hazel Findley, Alene Meade; brother, Raymond Hylton.
