Christine Nester Slaughter

Christine Nester Slaughter, 88, of Axton, VA, passed Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Sovah Health, Martinsville.

A graveside service will be held 11am, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden, NC. The family will receive friends other times at 134 Skyline Circle, Eden, NC 27288.

Christine was born November 3, 1933, in Henry County, VA, to the late Willie Guy Nester and Lorena Barker Nester. Christine was Methodist by faith. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. Christine would sew anything and everything for everybody. She loved her family and spending her time with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra (Booker) Wilson of Eden, Ray (June) Slaughter of Martinsville; grandchildren, Joshua (Jenny) Wilson, Allen Wilson, Holly (Luke) Haines; great-grandchildren, Alissa Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Addison Haines, Ainsley Haines, Amelia Haines; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Slaughter; brother, General Jackson Nester; sister, Gladys Martin.
