Christine Martin Benton

Christine Howell Martin Benton, age 88 of Eden, passed away on Friday morning January 16, 2015 at Morehead Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boone's Mill, Virginia.

Mrs. Benton was born July 17, 1926 in Stuart, VA to the late Hobart Martin and Myrtie Howell Martin. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and in her early years worked at Fieldcrest Mills and later was a homemaker.

Surviving are daughter, Mickey Benton O'Dell and husband Wayne of Eden; aunt, Ethylene Gilley ; uncle, Fred Martin and wife Minnie all of Stuart, VA; cousins, C.W. Howell and wife Rena of Eden, Charlene Apple of Reidsville and Bill Howell of Salem, VA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home from 12 - 1 pm and other times at the home of her daughter, Mickey O'Dell, 176 Westfield Road, Eden, NC 27288.
