Charlie Harden Cofer, 94, passed away Monday afternoon, March 23, 2015, at Brian Center in Eden.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, March 26, at Dan River Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Cofer was born February 2, 1921 to the late George and Anna Joyce Cofer. He was a 33 year member of Dan River Wesleyan Church and a US Army veteran of World War II. Charlie was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Patterson Cofer of Eden; daughter, Sandra Keen and husband, James of Eden; four grandchildren, James "Jimbo" H. Keen, Jr. of Greensboro, Kimberly Keen of Elon, Jesse Shelton and Jacob Shelton, both of Eden; and close family friends, Carla Greeson, Tristan Shaw, and Torrie Shaw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Carter.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (2 - 3 PM) at Dan River Wesleyan Church.
