Charles Warren Hopper

Charles Warren Hopper, Sr. 71, passed away Thursday night, December 31, 2020, at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

Mr. Hopper will lie in repose on Monday, January 4th from 8:00am to 6:00pm for those wishing to pay their respect and sign the register book.

Born June 1, 1949 in Rockingham County, Charles was the son of the late Herman Hopper and Maxine Brown Hopper.  Charles was a graduate of Morehead High School in 1967. Mr. Hopper was the owner/operator of Master Lube and Car Service in Eden.  He loved playing golf and most likely played every golf course around at some point and time.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Newman Hopper, sons; Charles “Chuck” Hopper, Jr. (Sindey) of Eden, Christopher Hopper (Ashley) of Eden, daughter, Daphne Barrow Southard (Dean) of Winston-Salem; Grandchildren, Christopher, Alexander, Victoria, Kristi, Jaci, Philip, Heath, Leightan; Several great grandchildren.Sisters, Carol Hensley of High Point, Debra Patterson of Myrtle Beach, Brothers, Harold Hopper of Eden,  Darrell Hopper of Reidsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria “Sissy” Zimmerman.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Morehead High School Athletic Department.
