Reidsville

Charles Richard Ratliff, II, “Chuck”, 51 of Reidsville, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, March 6, 2026, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with burial to follow at the Ratliff Family Cemetery on Sims Rd in Reidsville, NC. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Chuck was born in September of 1974 in Wentworth, North Carolina to Charles and Carolyn Ratliff.

A loving Husband, Father, Pop Pop, Brother, Son, and Friend. A strong, steady man whose life was defined by loyalty, love and hard work.

Chuck loved the outdoors. You could find him four-wheeling back roads, fishing quiet waters, working on anything with an engine or helping a friend fix what needed fixing. He worked hard on the land. If he could picture it, he could build it. If something was broken, he would repair it. He believed in showing up, working hard and taking care of those around him.

He was the kind of man who didn't talk big - he acted big. His advice and guidance helped others. He loved fiercely, protected what mattered and carried the weight of responsibility without a complaint. If you were around him, you were guaranteed a laugh.

He leaves behind many years of laughter, memories, and deep devotion to those he loved. His absence will be felt daily but his example of how to love, work hard and stand firm will continue to guide his loved ones.

He was welcomed home by his late mother; Carolyn Light Ratliff whose love helped shape the heart of who he was. His grandparents; and by his faithful dog, Buddy, whose loyal companionship brought endless joy and unconditional love through the years.

Left to carry forward his love and memory are his devoted wife, Kristi Ratliff; his daughter, Taylor Ratliff (Derek Manley); his son, Jentry Washburn; his father, Dickie Ratliff; his sisters, Kim Craddock (Larry Craddock) and Mandy Alcorn (Allen Alcorn); his nieces Laci Craddock and Shandale Alcorn; and his one and only grandson, his pride and joy, Mason Jace Manley.
