Cecil Ray Compton

Cecil Ray Compton, 85, passed away on Saturday, June 3rd at Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC.

Cecil was born July 9, 1937 to the late Monroe Charlie Compton and Ollie Haynes Compton in Henry County. After retiring from Fieldcrest Mills as a machinist, he continued working in the maintenance field for various companies until shortly before his death. In his free time, he enjoyed farming and tinkering in his shop.

Left to cherish his memories are his great-nephew, Brian Cochran; brother, Jackie Compton; sister-in-law, Betty Compton; niece Diane and nephew Ralph.

Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Compton, and numerous siblings.

Cecil will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at the Compton Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 2129 Morgan Ford Road in Ridgeway, on Tuesday, June 6th between 2:00pm and 6:00pm.
