Carol Lowder Ellis

Carol Lowder Ellis, 84 of Eden, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at UNC Health Rockingham in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at Roselawn.

Carol was born May 22, 1940 in Hopewell, VA, to the late Claude and Harriet Lowder. She graduated Ayer High School in Massachusetts in 1958. She received her associate degree from Rockingham Community College. Carol was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Reidsville, NC. She worked as a file clerk with the Board of Elections for several years.

Carol is survived by her husband of 42 years, Donald Neal Ellis of the home; son, John Connett, III, (April) of Winston-Salem; stepdaughter, Kim Bennett (Lane) of Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Edwin Lowder and Claude “Billy” William Lowder; stepdaughter, Neely Hope Ellis Hedrick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2020 Wentworth St, Reidsville, NC 27320.
