Calvin Maxwell Shorter

Calvin Maxwell Shorter, age 77 of 153 Lark Lane, Eden, passed away on Monday September 1, 2014 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 4 pm Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Military Rites to be held following the service at Fair Funeral Home. A private burial will follow on Thursday morning at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Shorter was born February 7, 1937 in Spray, NC to the late Walter Thurman and Maxine Dehart Shorter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Danville VFW #1097. He was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church and a graduate of Morehead High School class of 1956 where he played on the MHS Football Team.

Surviving are daughters, Rhonda S. Scott and husband Greg of Mebane, NC, Sherri S. Creech and husband Robbie of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Timothy Scott , Brian and Vance Creech; 3 neices and 1 nephew.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 3 - 4 pm.
