C. C. "Doc" Hall, 84, formerly of Johnston Street, and more recently of 244 Weaver Street, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 3, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Hall was born September 27, 1926. He was a US Navy veteran having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict where he received a Purple Heart, and the Vietnam War, retiring as Master Chief Corpman. Mr. Hall was also a retired Health Inspector for Rockingham County Health Department. He was a member of Leaksville Christian Church, Past Master of Masonic Lodge #136 AF & AM, and also a member and Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, Rose Chapter in Greensboro. Surviving is his wife, Jackie Hall; son, Lee Hall and wife, Ellen of Honea Path, SC; grandsons, Elliott Hall and wife, Christine of Greenville, SC, Everett Hall of Honea Path, SC; granddaughter, Lillie Hall of Honea Path; and grandson, Jamie Swift and wife, Donna of Eden; SC; great-grandson, Brent Swift of Greensboro; and special friends, Harry and Norma Jean McKinney. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at 244 Weaver Street in Eden.
