Bryant Delanor Lemons, 72, of 4243 NC Hwy 14, Reidsville, died suddenly but peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 23, 2013.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany of which he was a member. Private burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery in Eden.
A native of the former Spray section of Eden, N.C., Mr. Lemons was born on December 29, 1940. He was the son of late parents, Viola M. Bryant and Lawrence Lemons. A 1959 graduate of J.M. Morehead High School, he was a retired self-employed contractor and former owner of Foodland Grocery Store. Mr. Lemons was a confirmed member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany where he served as chairman of the Ushers/Greeters committee, was a member of the Church Board of Vestrymen and was also a former Junior Warden of the Parish. A history buff by nature, he was a former member of the Eden Preservation Society. He loved gardening and was known to share the fruits of his labors with anyone he knew or wherever there was a need.
He is survived by his wife, Azile of the home and daughters, Jeri Lemons Wilson (Mike) of Reidsville, Karen Cherry Cox (Garry) of Eden, Cathy Gail Cherry of Eden, Lisa Ann Cherry of Wilmington, N.C. and Amy Cherry Holland (Chris) of London, Kentucky, a brother Herman Bryant (Barbara) of Edenton, N.C. and a sister-in-law, Norma P. Parker of Eden, Five grandchildren, Kelly Brame Wilson of Salisbury and Reidsville, N.C., Kate Honeycutt Clark (Chad) of Wilmington, N.C., Christopher Cox and William Cox, both of Eden and Joshua Holland of London, Kentucky, and great grandchild, Stephen Cox. He is also survived by his constant and loyal companion, ��������?ᬮ���?�Jessie��������?ᬮ��??.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved Granny, Georgia Conway Hopkins.
A visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday at the Church of the Epiphany from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. and at other times, an informal visitation at Fair Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon for those who wish to pay their respects but can not attend the Wednesday service or visitation. The family will also receive friends at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 538 Henry Street, Eden N.C. 27288
