Bruce Robert Peters

Bruce R. Peters, 73, of Eden, NC began his journey towards the gates of heaven on December 15th, 2022, with beloved wife, Fran Peters, his wife of 46 years and his loving nephew, Steve Lemons Jr, at his side.

Bruce was the salt of the earth who would give a stranger the shirt off of his back. He was a very sensitive, thoughtful and loving person. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held Tuesday December 20, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Fair Funeral Home, 432 Boone Road, Eden NC. The funeral service will be held Wednesday December 21, 2022 beginning at 11:00 with a visitation beginning 1 hour prior to the service (10:00).

Bruce was born February 3, 1949 in Bethlehem, PA. Upon graduation from High School, Bruce enlisted in the U. S. Guard in 1967. He reached the rank of Master Chief (E9) in the Marine Safety Technician field and retired honorably in 1998, with 30 years of service. His last duty station was at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters and he retired as the Marine Science Technician rating manager for the U. S. Coast Guard. After retirement, he enjoyed all things life has to offer - fishing, traveling, an occasional casino trip, a beautiful tree line view from his deck, learning and building of all things. He is survived by his wife Fran (Lumpkins) Peters of the home in Eden; his sister Kathy Henry of Bethlehem, PA; his niece Christine Steigerwalt (Dale) of Nazareth, PA; great-niece and nephew: Sarah and Shane Steigerwalt; sister-in-laws Reba Enriquez (Marty) of Greensboro; Marie Lumpkins of (Danville), VA; nephew Steve Lemons Jr. of Greensboro; niece Wendy Buchanan (Buck) of Mount Pleasant, SC; great nephew and nieces: Steven Lemons III; Sarah (Dakota) Mathews & Stephanie Lemons (Jordan) all of Greensboro; Harley Buchanan, Corbin Buchanan, Kain Buchanan all of Mount Pleasant, SC. Special aunts and uncles: Aunt Dorothy Cannon of Eden, NC and Aunt & Uncle Louise and Earl Hammock of Eden, NC.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert E Peters, Jr and Margaret Bealer Peters of Bethlehem, PA; his beloved Mother-in-law and Father-in-Law: Velva and Junior Lumpkins of Eden; his special Aunt Polly of Bethlehem, PA; Great niece Ashelyn Lemons of Eden; and his four-legged fur babies – Tom; Smokey, Baseball; Football; Miss Kitty; Rusty and Pharoh.
