Billy Gene Anderson

Billy Gene Anderson, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 6, with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.  He will lie in repose on Saturday from 12 Noon to 6 PM and Sunday from 8 AM till 12 noon, at Fair Funeral Home for those wishing to come by to pay their respects.

Born January 10, 1939 in Rockingham County, NC, Billy was the son of the late William Dennis Anderson and Gertrude Burchell Anderson.  He was a US Navy veteran and a retiree of Spray Cotton Mills.  Billy was a member of True Hope Church.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, riding around, and going to church on Sunday mornings.

He is survived by his daughter, Betty Wright (Mark) of Eden; son, Stephen Anderson (Kimberly) of Eden; seven grandchildren, Billy Gene Anderson II (Shawna), Stevie Anderson, Kristie Whaley (Randy), Crystal Worley, Josh Worley, Crystal Silvers (Daniel), and Jennifer Wilson (Josh); 13 great-grandchildren, Alissa Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Payton Silvers, Jackson Silvers, Derrick Silvers, Kaylie Silvers, Addison Anderson, Emalyn Anderson, Cheyenne Anderson, Sadie Anderson, Landon Worley, Clay Worley and Elaina Whaley; and two sisters, Sharon Nelson and Joan Bridgman (Jack).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn D. Anderson.
