Billie Marshall Barrett

Billie Marshall Barrett, age 65 of 538 Garrett Road, Eden passed away on Friday June 3, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Billie was born June 12, 1945 in Rockingham County to the late Bryant and Mamie Purgason Barrett. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1968 - 69 in Vietnam. Billie was employed by Sam W. Smith Construction and Vanier Graphics. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. Preceding him in death along with his parents was sister and brother in law, Brenda and Clarence Carter, niece Amanda Carter and his fiance, Ann Barker. Surviving him are daughter; Kathy Tatum and husband Kevin, bother; Bobby Barrett and wife Mary Sue, granddaughters; Kasey and Katrina Tatum, grandson; Kyle Tatum all of Stoneville, niece; Susan Carter and lifetime friend Jeannette Light both of Eden. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Fair Funeral Home from 6-8 pm and other times at the home of Jeannette Light, 608 Robindale Ct. Eden.
