Beverly Alice Cochran Mitchell

August 6, 1944 — March 21, 2021

Beverly Alice Cochran Mitchell, 76, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2021, with her three children by her side.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC.  The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home.

Born on August 6, 1944, in Draper NC, Beverly was the daughter of the late Virgil Alexander Cochran and the late Helen Arender Cochran Reynolds.  She grew up in Eden, NC and graduated from Morehead High School.  After marrying in 1962 she made her home wherever her family/children were, from Winston-Salem, NC, to Pleasantville, NY, Germantown, TN, Myrtle Beach, SC, Highland Park, IL, and most recently Cedar Park, TX.  She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  She was a Girl Scout Leader, taught Vacation Bible School, sang in the Church choir, volunteered at her children’s schools, was an Avon representative and studied to be a Nurses Aid.  Her most rewarding role in life was being a mother and grandmother.  She loved to draw, paint, sew, make arts and crafts, and read to her children and grandchildren.  Being a great fan of Elvis, she visited Graceland several times.  Beverly was a unique woman who was kind, thoughtful, creative, strong, stubborn and never judged, boasted or blamed.

She is survived by her children, Ann Mitchell Franzese, of Lake Forest, IL, Susan Mitchell, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Joseph Mitchell and wife, Denise of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Megan Mitchell, John Franzese, Grace Franzese, Jack Mitchell and Camille “Cami” Mitchell; sister Eleanor Cochran Hyler, of Eden, NC, brothers Virgil Alexander “Al” Cochran Jr. (Melinda) of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC, and John Wallace Cochran (Carla) of Martinsville, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Cochran Mize.
