Betty Ward Compton

Betty Ward Compton, age 85 of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her home.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm at the Compton Family Cemetery on Drag Mountain Road in Ridgeway, Va.

Betty was born July 26, 1938 to the late John Frank Ward and Mabel Nuckols Ward.  She was the owner and operator of Country Beauty Salon.  Betty was a member of First Church of the Brethren.  Her favorite pass time was to do yard work such as mowing and getting up leaves. Betty loved spending time with her dog, Cletus.

Surviving are her son, Bret and wife Emalee Compton; nephew, T. J. Ward and wife Amanda; nieces Linda Ward and Terry Schenck and husband Dennis.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah James Compton; brothers, Jack, Henry, Gene and Max Ward: sister, Mary Lou Reynolds; brother-in-law, Jackie Lee Compton.
