Betty Lee Kingston Hutson

July 14, 1944 — January 1, 2024

Betty Kingston Hutson, 79, of Eden went home to be with her heavenly father on January 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11am at Gospel Tabernacle Church in Eden with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

Betty was born July 14, 1944 in Rockingham County to the late Henry Newton Kingston and Cleo Coleman Kingston.

She was a lifetime member of Gospel Tabernacle Church. She loved the written word.  Betty worked, in her early life, at Town and Country Restaurant, Food World, and Rolanes. She enjoyed fishing, camping, playing the piano, tulips and sunflowers and traveling with her husband.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kerry Hutson and wife Lisa Fain Hutson, Frank Hutson and wife Linda Gayle Hutson; grandchildren, Kim Hutson Kidd (Brandon), Gene Matthew Hutson, Justin Hutson; honorary granddaughter, Ava Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Abygayle and Bray Kidd; brother, Tommy Kingston (Sandra); special nieces, Penny Allen (Mike), Amanda Kingston Lawrence (Justin), Brooke Kingston Webb (Andy); niece and nephews, Eddie Allen (Wendy), Kim Kingston Smith (Steve), Roger Kingston.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Taylor Hutson; sister, Jeannie Allen; brothers, George Kingston, Garry Kingston; brother- and sister-in-law, Tommy Allen and Mary Crouch Kingston.

A special thank you to Penny Allen and Mike Shore, Tommy and Sandra Kingston, for all they have done for Betty.
